Found along Berlin’s bustling Augustrasse in Mitte, and perfectly surrounded by the city’s cultural landscapeベルリン人におすすめの本屋を聞くと、必ず「Do You Read Me?!」と答えられる。ミッテ区の中の賑わった地域、アウグストにあるこの店は雰囲気のあるギャラリーやカフェに囲まれた素敵な場所に位置している。ベルリンのクリエイティブな人間はここに新たな発想を求めてよく足を運んでいる。またお店のことをよく知らない人でも、思いがけない掘り出し物をここで発見できる。
オーナーのマークとジェシカは名作の宝庫という考えとは逆に、雑誌や他のめずらしい種類の読み物を扱う店を開いた。彼らの、地元や世界中から集めたファッション、グラフィック、インテリアデザインそして建築に関する本のコレクションには誰もが圧倒される。彼らのコレクションは幅広く、東京で出版された「+81」に始まり、ロンドンで出版された「グリーン・サッカー・ジャーナル」、中にはモノ・クルトゥーアの限定版、モノエディションがある。
マークのデザインスタジオ「グレイ」の家具と「アルテック」のランプで飾られたポツダマー通りにある彼らの２店舗目は、世界的に有名なデザイナー達に選ばれた、幅広く、選りすぐりの書籍を扱っている。この「リーディングルーム」で人々は何を読んでいるのか。探ってみるのも面白いだろう。

Owners Mark and Jessica have created an unparalleled store of publishing heaven, perfect for magazine-lovers and the rare finds of the text kind. They hold an impressive collection of local and international titles from fashion, graphic and interior design and architecture fields. Distance plays no card for their selection, inside you will find Tokyo’s +81 or London’s Green Soccer Journal, amongst limited editions such as mono.kultur’s mono.editionen.
Their second retail space in Potsdamerstrasse, designed by Mark’s own design studio Greige and exclusively filled with furniture and lamps from Artek. Titled the Reading Room, it holds an equally extensive and encompassing range of rare titles hand-selected by a group of leading international designers. Who is inside, and what are they reading? Perhaps you may discover a wonderful surprise.
