水戸駅からまっすぐに伸びる、なだらかな上り坂を歩くことおよそ20分。坂の頂上付近にさしかかると、ビルの谷間の路地の向こうに螺旋形の鉄塔が出迎えてくれる。After a 20-minute walk along a gradual slope from Mito station, a spiral tower remotely shows itself between buildings in the city. As I walk toward the tower, I encounter a green scene of a grassy plaza with 3 zelkova trees in its entrance gate.

「ADBUSTERS」の Appetite（食欲）号で「母親の乳房から母乳を得てるときが生涯の中で一番食物の資源との距離が近く、それ以降その距離は離れる一方である」という提議を読み、思わずはっとした。I was startled by reading a proposal in Appetite edition of ‘ADBUSTERS’ saying that “Distance with resources of the first food was the closest when I got mother’s milk from the breast of hers, and it continued leaving the distance after it in a life”.

過去４年間に渡りTシャツキャンペーンを毎年行ってきたユニクロ。これまでに手がけたTシャツは1000種類を超える。そのユニクロが2007年4月28日、原宿明治通り沿いにTシャツ専門ブランド「UT STORE HARAJUKU.」をオープンした。UNIQLO has had a T-shirt campaign every year for the last 4 years. It consists of over 1,000 shirts they produced. On April 28th, 2007. UNIQLO opened a new store on Harajuku Meiji Street called “UT STORE HARAJUKU.” which is a new brand specializing in t-shirts.

岡本太郎記念館Taro Okamoto Museum

青山骨董通り裏に突如現われる、この辺りでは珍しい背高い南洋植物が生い茂った古い洋館。一昨年亡くなった芸術家、岡本太郎の自宅であったこの家が改装され、今月から記念館として一般公開された。There is a unique western style house along the Aoyama Kottoh Street in Tokyo. It used to be the house of Taro Okamoto, a prominent Japanese artist who passed away in ’96.
