The region of Øresund, eastern Denmark and southern Sweden, is an inter-Scandinavian area with young Swedes commuting to the Danish capital to work as shop assistants and Danes invadingオーレスン地方とは、デンマーク東部とスウェーデン南部を含む北欧の一エリアであり、ここでは若いスウェーデン人が店舗店員として働くためにデンマークの首都に通い、デンマーク人が割安の買い物をするためにスウェーデンの街マルメにやってくる the Swedish town of Malmö in order to do some shopping at bargain prices. All this is thanks to the Øresund link, a bridge-tunnel that connects these two neighbouring countries.
It was completed in 2000 and connects Copenhagen and Malmö through the European route E20 and the Øresund railway line. One month prior to the opening in 2000, a half marathon (Broloppet, the Bridge Run) has held with about 80 000 competitors and is now held every summer.
