, who had also been involved in the building work of the National Library.

This new space has three storeys and it stands in the square where the Alzaga Unzué Mansion was located, the one that was expropriated and became the presidential residence of Juan Domingo Perón and Eva Duarte.

On the first storey of the building there is an exhibition of ‘the book’ seen from certain relevant viewpoints: translations, bans, political pedagogy, the raise of new readerships, emerging writings. In addition to the display cases with the book exhibition, the visitor will find a historical map of Argentinean publishing houses. Moreover, there is also a manuscript of the Rayuela Logbook by celebrated writer Julio Cortázar available.

On the 2nd storey there is a temporary exhibition room, where there are works by contemporary artists, related to the theme in the museum. On the sloping ceilings in this room, which are visible from any standing point in the complex, a mural of interactive letters that create custom-made texts as the visitors walk around the floor is projected.

Inside the museum there are four vaults – murals – made by artists Spilimbergo, Urruchúa, Castagnino and Colmeiro, which were in the custody of the National Library and which have been incorporated as part of the exhibition in the building. In addition, the museum has a newspaper and periodicals library, a treasure room, a photographic library, a Historic Institutional Archive, an audio library, a media library, a map library and a reading room for blind people.

Do not miss this curious museum, where the literary classics blend in perfect harmony with technology and avant-garde architecture.
