ガロータ・ヂ・イパネマ（イパネマの娘）は、1960年代のイパネマのスタイルを決定付け、リオの女性へのオマージュとして一世を風靡した有名なボサノヴァの歌。Garota de Ipanema, or “Girl from Ipanema,” is the famous bossa nova song that defined Ipanema style in the 1960s and paid homage to Rio’s women.ヴィニシウス・ヂ・モライスとアントニオ・カルロス・ジョビンの２人が1962年にこの歌を書いたバーの名前でもある。２人は毎日バーの角に座り、ビーチへと向かう娘たちが近くをぶらつくのを眺めていたという伝説もある。
南アメリカの最も有名なビーチから１ブロック程のところにあるこのガロータ・ヂ・イパネマは、人気の観光スポットになっているが、その文化的重要性は今でも一見の価値がある。場所は、イパネマを横切ってビーチに続く緑豊かな通り、ルア・ヴィニシウス・ヂ・モライスの角。

Legend has it that the two musicians would sit at the bar on the corner each day and watch the girls stroll by on their way to the beach.
Located just one block from South America’s most famous beach, Garota de Ipanema is a popular tourist spot but still worth a visit for the site’s historical importance. It’s on the corner of Rua Vinícius de Moraes, a leafy street that cuts through Ipanema straight to the beach.
