1986年に当時まだめずらしかった洋書、美術書を扱う書店としてオープン。洋書、美術書の取扱い数、バックナンバーの充実で関西一の在庫を誇る「心斎橋アセンス」。Shinsaibashi Athens opened in 1986 as a leading book shop dealing in imported books and art books, with the largest stock of the number of those books, and the back issues.以来、クリエイターや学生をはじめ、多くの人達に支持され続けている。
４階の芸術書フロアは、ファッション、写真、アート、デザイン、建築などの専門書を、洋書・和書ともに豊富にそろえている。５階の「ギャラリーアセンス美術」ではアセンス主催の企画展や、様々な展覧会を行っており、また貸しギャラリーとしても運用している。
また、出版部門の「アセンス出版」では、アセンスに縁のある作家の書籍を扱っており、これまでに絵本４冊、実用文芸書１冊を出版している。

Athens Publishing manages the books of the writers close to Athens, and has published 4 picture books and a practical guide.
