Mamecha Green Tea is the project of Hidetoshi Toya, originally from Japan but living in Berlin since several years ago. The main idea behind is to offer Real Japanese food, avoiding the Sushi, which is clearly very easy to find nowadays in a city like Berlinマメチャ・グリーンティーは数年前からベルリンに住んでいる日本出身の豆谷秀敏によるプロジェクト。ベルリンのような都市では近頃ありふれたものとなっている寿司などではなく、本当の日本食を提供することがここの主なコンセプト。
マメチャはミッテ地区の中心で、そう人通りの多くないミュラック通りに位置する。朝や夕方は静かな場所だが、ランチタイムに15席の中から場所を確保するのは容易ではない。マメチャのフードメニューは多くはないが、メニューには、味噌汁、アボカドサラダ、海藻サラダなどどれをとっても美味しいものばかりだ。またメニューの一つ「お弁当」はマメチャのメニューをまるごと、少しずつ試してみたい人にとってはベストな選択かもしれない。味噌汁、ご飯、野菜餃子、漬物とサラダがセットになっている。
店ではオリジナルのデザートも提供している。抹茶アイス、メロンクリームソーダ、餅とバニラアイスを組み合わせた雪見アイス、甘く煮た小豆と温かい餅の入ったぜんざい、など。一緒に出されるお茶もとてもおいしい。
マメチャは健康的でおいしい食事がいつ行っても食べられる居心地のいい場所だ。

Mamecha is located in the not-so-busy Mulackstrasse, in the heart of Mitte. It is a quiet place in the morning and late afternoon, but during lunchtime might be not that easy to get a spot (only 15 places). The food options are just a few, but they all seem to be equally good. Miso Soup, Avocado Salad, Kaiso Salad-seaweed- and the Bento Boxes, the smartest decision if you wanna try a bit of all Mamecha´s specialties: Miso soup, a portion of rice, vegetarian gyoza (dumpling with vegetables), pickled vegetables and a salad. They also offer different and very original desserts: Matcha Eis -Green Tea icecream-, Melon Cream Soda, Yukimi Eis -Rice cake with vainilla ice cream- and Zenzai -Warm Mochi rice ball with sweet red beans-. The tea is tasty and very nicely served.
Mamecha is a cozy place where both healthy and tasty food can be eaten any time of the day.
