Opened in June 2009, a restaurant bar “FINCH of AMAZING DINER” is located in the first floor of “M-SQUARE” where you can find Mercure Hotel Sapporoメルキュールホテル札幌がある「M-SQUARE」の１階に位置する「FINCH of AMAZING DINER（フィンチ・オブ・アメージング・ダイナー）」は、2009年6月にオープンしたレストラン・バー。シャンデリアにミラーやソファーなどアンティークファニチャーを所狭しと配置したクラシカルな中にどこか新しさのあるインテリアが特徴だ。
店内は最大150席と広く、モロッコスタイルブース、アンティークブース、ネオクラシカルブース、バーカウンターと、テーマごとに空間が分かれ、店内にはパティオ（中庭）がある。それぞれの世界が融合して独特の世界観を生み出してしている。
料理はべーグル等のランチメニューから、道産直材を中心とした料理とアルコールをディナーでは楽しめる。一番人気のコースは4000円から。一人当たりの平均単価は昼700円、夜3000〜4000円と手頃な値段だ。
店の名前の由来はダーウィンの進化論のきっかけともなったガラパゴスの鳥で、生息状況によって何種もの独自の進化を遂げたとされる。その多様性をヒントに、その日のゲストしか味わうことのできない特別な時間を提供している。
昼と夜、一人や仲間達、恋人とではまた違った顔を見せてくれるフィンチ。ラグジュアリーな雰囲気があるが、スタッフはフレンドリーで料金も手頃だ。気軽に楽しみたい。
ウェディングをはじめとする様々なイベントにも利用されているので、来店時には事前に問い合わせすることをおすすめする。

Text: Tamami Kadowaki. The interior is characterized by a combination of new and classical styles arranged with antique furniture, mirror, sofa and chandelier.
The restaurant has 150 seating capacity, divided into different themes such as Moroccan style booth, antique booth, neo-classical booth and bar counter. There is a patio (a courtyard) as well. Each atmosphere mixes and brings about a unique view of the world.
You can enjoy bagles for lunch menus and a selection of dishes used local food and alcohols for dinner. The most popular course costs from 4,000 yen. The average price per person is 700 yen for lunch and 3000-4000 yen for dinner, which are pretty reasonable prices.
The origin of the restaurant name is a bird of Galapagos where is known for the Darwin’s evolutionary theory, and it is said that the bird accomplished original evolution of several kinds by the habitation situation. The diversity gave them a clue to offer special time for the guest of the day only.
FINCH has different faces at night and day. There is a luxurious atmosphere, but the staff is friendly and the rate is reasonable. Recommend their schedule prior to visit, as parties are occasionally held.
