In the modern neighbourhood of Palermo there is a shop window no one can avoid looking at when walking by: Converse and its first exclusive store, opened at the end of 2009ブエノスアイレスの流行発信地パレルモ。そこに2009年末、国内初の「コンバース」専門店が誕生した。ショーウィンドウには「オールスター」などの様々なデザインの靴が並べられ、通行人の目を惹きつけている。改装した古い建物の中にある店舗には大きな窓があり、フンボルト通りから千足を超える靴の数々を覗く事ができる。
また店内はレンガや木を使った落ち着いた色調でまとめられ、色とりどりの靴とちょうど良いバランスが取られている。 各靴のモデルはただ生地や柄を変えるだけではなく、デザインそのものにも違いがある。エスパドリーユ、ブーツ、ブーティーなどの靴でも、主要モデルのデザインを再現してある。
毎コレクションのテーマはカート・コバーンなどのロックンロールからチャック・テイラー、ジャック・パーセルなどのスポーツ選手、さらにはバスケットボールやスケートなどのスポーツ自体と実に様々。

Attention is caught by the amazing variety of designs of a classic like All Star. The store is just as impressive: built inside a –formerly – old building, its huge window allows passers-by to observe the one thousand and one pairs from the sidewalk of Humboldt Street. On entering the store, a mixture of brick and wood balances the colour shock embodied in the shoes.
The shoe models do not only change fabric and pattern, but also their design: espadrilles, boots, booties all faithful to the main brand model. The themes of the collections refer to rock-and-roll – Kurt, by Cobain – to players of different sports – Chuck Taylor, Jack Purcell – or to sport itself – basketball, skating. It is interesting to see that there is a model for every person – in neutral colour shades, in loud colour shades, or gold, plain, printed, etc.
The feeling when one enters a sports store and variety is provided by the brands is present in Converse, but in a more exclusive way since only one brand is the mentor of so many different styles. It is most likely that you will come across ‘your own’ pair at Converse.
