秋吉台国際芸術村Akiyoshidai International Art Village

Focusing on offering Artists in Resident Programs, Akiyoshidai International Art Village (AIAV) is fully equipped for wide variety of artistic activities including music, art, dance and drama1998年にオープンした「秋吉台国際芸術村=AIAV」は、音楽、美術、ダンス、演劇など幅広い芸術文化活動に対応できる滞在型文化施設。地域の人のみならず、国内外のアーティスト達にも数多く創作活動の場を提供し支援している、アーティスト・イン・レジデンス施設だ。アーティスト達が行うワークショップ等を通して、地域を芸術で結ぶ交流の場となっている。
施設は約300人を収容するホール、食堂、研修室、練習用のスタジオ、ギャラリー、カフェテリア、そして最大100人を収容する宿泊室などが完備している。建築設計は、磯崎新。
日常の喧騒から解放される「秋吉台」の豊かな自然環境に囲まれ、ここでしかできない新たな創作を発信することができるだろう。

Text: Tamami Kadowaki, to support not only local but alsonational and international artists. AIAV is a venue to exchange and link various regions with art through artists-organized workshops. The facility is equipped with a hall holding about 300 seats, cafeteria, study room, Rehearsal studio, gallery and accommodation where can hold 100 guests at most. The architecture was designed by Arata Isozaki. AIAV is a place to generate new creation surrounded by nature of Akiyoshidai away from the bustle of everyday life.
