The Contemporary Art Museum of Stockholm lays in the isle of Skeppsholmen. It belongs to the urban center of the city and it´s a beautiful art territory at the Baltic sea entrance to Stockholmストックホルムの中心部、シェップスホルメン島に位置する、ストックホルム近代美術館。この地区には、他にもストックホルム建築博物館や、東洋美術館、ガレアセン劇場、王立美術大学などの施設がある。
近代美術館は、スェーデンやノルウェーの現代美術作家の作品に加え、ダリや、ロバート・ラウシェンバーグ、マティス、ピカソ、ミロ、ブラック、ニキ・ド・サンファル、マルセル・デュシャン、ジャコメッティなど、20世紀を代表する美術作品を多数所蔵している。入場料は、80セック（スウェーデン・クローナ）。野外では彫刻作品も見ることができる。
美術館にはレストランが併設されており、ガラス張りの店内からは素晴らしい景色を眺めながら、手頃な料金で、豊富な種類の料理を楽しめる。春夏にはテラスも利用できる。週末のみのブランチタイム（11:30〜13:30、14:00〜の２回）もおすすめだ。265セックでスペシャルブランチを楽しめる。

In barely 40 hectares of land you are well covered of different art institutions, Moderna Museet is the jewel of Skeppsholmen but there you also can find Architecture Museum Arkitekturmuseet, East Asia Museum Östasiatiska Muséet, avant-garde theater Teater Galeasen or The Royal University College of Fine Arts.
The museum itself is a must. Actually its gift-store is extraordinary. Posters, books, intellectual toys for kids, etc. A bunch of delight ideas under average prices. Although entrance to the currently exhibition is a price of 60/80 SEK, the access to the building is for free, so you are more than welcome to walk inside and get inspired by its book store.
But definitely what it is a obligatory stop once you are in is the restaurant of the museum. Placed towards the east side of the island with a large crystal panel that offers you an amazing view. Here you can see from the ships moored at the docks around the island itself and Djurgården, including the outsides of Vasa Museum just in front of you, until the southern part of Östermalm, known as the financial district and urban pulse of multinational headquarters.
During spring and summer you also can enjoy a terrace that just continues along the same crystal panel. This view is a classic and a great opportunity to relax. If you are joined by children inside there is also a special area for you. There is also a baby change room. Prams available on loan.
The Food is excellent. Not just in variety but also in price. For an average price between 110-150 SEK be sure you will be very satisfied. But also be sure to be in good timing, the buffet is not a secret in town so you better not come late. One of the highlights ever is the smörgåstårta med lax, it´s a cold salmon cake made as a sandwich but cover with wrings and caviar. No comments! You also will go crazy with the baked goods. Few swedish classics such as blåbärspaj for not to mention the white chocolate cake.
Alternatively, you might choose to be seated in table service area where you will select from a special menu but if you want to do it even more special then your choice is the weekend brunch. Brunch at the restaurant goes Saturdays and Sundays with a first sitting 11.30-13.30 and a second at 14.00. Price is 265 SEK/pp.
In addition if you become a member of Moderna Museet on Tuesday nights you get especial reduction on the menu.
