In addition to major modern art museums and "have-to-go-sees" there is a vivid art life in Stockholm. A visit in art museums and established galleries will never let you down. Here there is always at least one interesting exhibition to see here if not several. To suggest a road off the beaten track pay a visit to the upcoming gallery district of Hudiksvallsgatan in Vasastan just north of the city center. Here you find interesting galleries with new interesting art of any kind. Another great area where you find galleries with modern art is in close to Sveavägen stretching through the Norrmalm also known as the city. In these two areas of the city you can always pop into a fresh new exhibition.
