Located at the foothills of Fort Canning映画の俳優になりきって、何か甘いものを食べて、たまには優しく自分をいたわってみるのはいかがだろうか。そんなときは、ファビュラス・ベイカー・ボーイへ。ファビュラス・ベイカー・ボーイはフォート・カニングのふもと、以前リバーバレー・スイミングプールがあった場所にある。ここの本格的な食事と落ち着いた場所という組み合わせは、街の中心部ではかなり貴重な存在だ。
プールはもう閉鎖しているが、60年代のモザイクタイルの柱や壁がその場所の歴史的な過去を示してくれる。モダンなスタイルが取り入れられたヴィンテージな雰囲気が漂う店内には、沢山のカラフルなケーキが並べられている。食事にするか、それともすぐにデザートを食べるかで迷ってしまう。サンドウィッチやパイ、カレーと言った心温まる食事は家庭の味を思い出させてくれる。ケーキはいつでも別腹と言うが、特にファビュラス・ベイカー・ボーイのケーキがそうである。濃厚なキャロットケーキやレッド・ベルベットと言うケーキを心ゆくまで食べるのもいい。もし冒険したい気分なら、塩キャラメルをアロマコーヒーで頂くのもいい。
カフェの外の家具は木の箱や板で作られており、芝生と青々とした木々を見渡すことができるので、目の前を行き来する物事を観察するには絶好の場所となる。日曜のブランチには完璧な隠れ場所だ。ちょっとしたささやかさとケーキがとても人気を呼んでいる。

Translation: Aya Kitano, on the site of the former River Valley Swimming Pool, the combination of earnest food and its tranquil setting makes it a rare gem in the heart of the city.
Though the pool has been filled, the 60s mosaic tiled columns and walls give away its historic past. The vintage interior with a modern twist is enlivened by the numerous colourful cakes on display for selection, one is lost for choice between having a main meal or diving straight into desserts. Hearty meals, reminiscent of home cooked food come in the form of sandwiches, pies and curries. There will always be room for cakes, especially for the Fabulous Baker Boy ones. Indulge in the rich Carrot Cake or Red Velvet or if your feeling adventurous, the Salted Caramel to go with your cup of aromatic coffee.
The alfresco setting with furniture made out of crates and plattes, overlook the lawn and lush greenery, making it an ideal place to watch the world go by. A perfect hideaway for Sunday brunch. That fabulous little extra that comes with the cakes are a well appreciated touch.
