Perhaps the most unique book space in Melbourne, a short tram ride from the city CBD and well worth the journey. Located on High Street in Thornbury, Perimeter Books is a book and gallery space unlike no otherおそらくはメルボルンにあるもっとも個性的な本屋であろうその店には、中心街から電車に乗り訪れる価値が間違いなくある場所である。トンブリーのハイストリートに位置するペリメーター・ブックスは本屋とギャラリーを兼ね備えた他にはないスペースである。そのミニマムなデザインの光差し込む店内には、彼らのセンスで世界中から集められた様々なジャンルのタイトルが揃う。
ペリメーター・ブックスは彼らの地元及び世界各国のすばらしい出版物にも多くたずさわってきた。ざっと列挙するだけでもニーブス、ジョディー・バートン、アラ・チャンプフェスト、ガスブック、SANAA、ピーター・サザーランド、ケッセルスクライマーなどのタイトルがあがる。店内でブルーノ・ムナーリの本の隣にホンマタカシの写真集を見つけることができるのはうれしい限りである。
オーナーのダンとジャスティンは、ペリメーターにくれば今まで見た事が無いような本を必ず見つける事ができると語る。彼らは東京、ニューヨーク、ハンブルグのブックフェアにも頻繁に出向き、豊富な知識を兼ね備えたジャーナリスト及び出版者としての評判もとても良い。自身の「Erm Books」からオーストラリアの素晴らしいアーティスト達の美しいハードカバーの本も出版している。
お店に行けば、デザイン、アート、建築などあなたにぴったりなセレクションから必ず何かしら欲しい本が見つかる事だろう。是非一度訪ねてみる事をお勧めしたい。

Perimeter host an admirable variety of local and international publishings including Nieves, Jody Barton, Ala Champfest, Gas Books, SANAA, Peter Sutherland and KesselsKramer titles just to name a few.
It’s a pleasant delight when you stumble upon a Bruno Munari book, alongside a photographic endeavour from Takashi Homma.
Owners Dan and Justine ensure that Perimeter holds something you’ve never come across before. Regular travelers to Tokyo, New York and Frankfurt Book Fair, they come with a wealth of knowledge and both reputable creative culture journalists and publishers themselves. Their own Erm Books, showcases an elegant selection of Australian artists in a beautiful hardback print.
Visit them in store, where you’ll have a selection of books suitably curated for you from their hefty design, art and architectural-based collection.
