Buenos Aires is a city with intense nightlife. Although the native dance is Tango, there is an interesting variety of other rhythms to be enjoyed in the city, such as flamenco, soul, jazz, rock, techno, electro, and much more. For those who like the typically local, tango parlours open around 7 p.m. and dancing there lasts until 10 p.m. or midnight on weekdays and all night long on the weekend. There are plenty of live show options, places like the Centro Cultural San Martin or Konex are ideal to attend to music concerts of varied styles. Discos do not open until after 1 or 2 a.m., therefore the trend is to have a drink before getting on the dance floor.
