Home is, as its name suggests, a hotel with the spirit of a home.
It is owned by a young couple, Patricia O’Shea and Tom Rixton, who met in Dublin and got married in Argentina2005年12月にオープンした「Home(オム)」はその名の通り、家庭の雰囲気を持ったホテルである。ホテルのオーナーである若い夫婦、パトリシアとトムはダブリンで出会いアルゼンチンで結婚した。結婚式には二人の友人が世界中から駆けつけて来たが、彼らの多くが快適な宿泊施設、つまり我が家のようにくつろげる場所を見つけることができなかった。その経験から二人は、そういった普通のホテルとは違った宿を提供できる場所を作ろうと思い至ったのである。
建築家ロドリゴ・クニルが設計したこのホテルは、古風なものと現代風のものが見事にバランス良く融合した形であり、それは二人がヨーロッパで手に入れた50〜70年代の壁紙や、フリーマーケットで見つけてきては修理され今はロビーに置かれている北欧の肘掛け椅子など建物内の様々な細部に表れている。
現在、オムで一番新しいのは「プールサイド・スイート」と呼ばれる、71m2あるスイートルームで、窓からはスイミングプールとホテルにある庭園を見渡すことが出来る。オム独自のスタイルとの見事な調和が保たれたその部屋は、落ち着いたデザインで統一され、内装の細部に至るまで拘っている。
1926年のフランスの壁紙にフローレンス・ノールのソファ、オリジナルのジョージ・ネルソンのテーブル、50年代の北欧デザインの肘掛け椅子など、こだわりの家具が並べられている。
さらに、庭園が見渡せる6×3mの巨大な窓からは日差しが差し込む（暗くしたいなら、遮光装置も備わっている）ジャグジー付の浴室、キングサイズベッドにはフフイで作られたラマの毛布、2つのLCDスクリーンにはDVDプレーヤーと音響設備が備わっており、ブエノス・アイレスでの最高の宿泊体験を盛り上げる内容となっている。

Translation: Yuki Mine. Their friends came to the wedding from all over the world and many were not able to find comfortable accommodation, that is to say a place where they felt at home. Thus, the couple came up with the idea of creating a space with a different accommodation offer.
Opened in December 2005 and designed by architect Rodrigo Cunill, Home is a balanced fusion between old-fashioned and modern styles, with details such as wallpapers dating from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s brought from Europe by Patricia and Tom; or the Scandinavian armchairs in the lobby, which were found in different flea markets and restored afterwards.
The latest at Home is the “Pool-Side Suite”, an exclusive 71-square-metre suite with a view of the swimming-pool and the hotel gardens. Designed by architects Rodrigo Cunill and Juana Grichener and Tom Rixton, it is in keeping with the “Home style”, managing a perfect balance between classic and modern, with sober design and interior decoration details.
The original French wallpaper from 1926, a Florence Knoll sofa, designer George Nelson’s original desk and the Scandinavian armchairs dating from the ‘50s are a few of the details that render this new area in the hotel unique.
In addition, the natural lighting provided by a large 6 by 3 m window with a view of the garden – with an exclusive black-out system in case darkness is sought – a bathroom with a Jacuzzi, a king size bed with llama blankets from Jujuy, 2 LCD screens with DVD player and sound system complete the plan for a perfect stay in Buenos Aires.
