Unik was born with the motto of bringing together the best of gastronomy and the best of world design. In its letter of introduction, five reasons to love Unik are stated: the career of its creator, who is the author and owner of the famous restaurant Unico and the store El Galpón in Paris, as well as being the designer of over twenty restaurants around the world; the design concept presented in the space where Marcelo’s refined collection of industrial design pieces dating from the sixties and seventies is displayed; the kitchen, sponsored by Mauro Colagreco – the first Argentinean chef to have a star in the Michelin Guide – and by two other chefs (Fernando Hara + Yago Márquez); having quality as an insignia, based on the use of fresh products, the produce of sustainable agriculture; the unique experience of an architecture especially developed for the goal of the restaurant, the open kitchen, the musical selection and quality service.

The menu at Unik has limited dishes, following the concept of product value-enhancement. Some of the options to start the evening are; king prawns from Chubut and spider crab with tomato gazpacho; low-temperature egg with crispy potatoes, Romesco (tomato, nuts and peppers) sauce and cured Iberian ham, or Argentine Kobe meat Carpaccio and olive oil ice-cream. The must-try main dishes are the slowly cooked Patagonian lamb garnished with quinoa with cumin and rib eye steak with mashed sweet potatoes and organic spinach. The perfect finale is the wet black chocolate cake with homemade praline.

Unik has the warmth of a space that is very much like one’s home – due to the detailed selection of each one of the objects that make up its interior decoration – whereas its eclectic gastronomic offer makes us feel as if we were away, on a trip.
