シンガポール国立博物館National Museum of Singapore
2006年新たに公開されたシンガポール国立博物館は120年以上の歴史を持つシンガポール国内最古の、また最も若く革新的な精神を有する博物館であるAt 118 years old, the National Museum of Singapore was reopened to the public in December 2006, as the Singapore’s oldest museum with the youngest and most innovative soul。人々の為の博物館として建てられたこの施設が誇るのは、従来の博物館としての経験を問い直す事を目的に、歴史を紹介する最先端の多彩な方法を取り入れた点である。
ただ展覧会や工芸品展示のための場所としてだけでなく、文化や遺産に新しい創造的可能性を吹き込むような刺激的で活気溢れる催し物やイベントも特徴である。
博物館には飲食店、売店、資料館、シネマテーク、劇場施設、公立彫刻庭園などの様々な設備も併設されている。

With a rich history dating back to its inception in 1887, the National Museum of Singapore has been closed since April 28, 2003 for redevelopment of the old National Museum building and will re-open in December 2006.
