ロイセルズ・トイ・カフェは2011年度のシンガポール・バリスタ・チャンピオンで優勝したバリスタの、ライアン・タンより提供されるコーヒーが自慢だ。
このロイセルズ・トイ・カフェの由来は、元はコーヒーの抽出を練習する機械として作られ、19世紀には世界初の業務用コーヒーマシンを製作プロデュースしたフランス人のエドワード・ロイセル・デ・サンテから付けられた。
朝食セットからサンドウィッチ、サラダにデザートまであらゆる種類が用意されている。このカフェが一番賑わうのは週末のブランチだが、雑誌をゆっくり読みながら静かにカプチーノを飲みたいなら平日訪れるのが良いだろう。
エチオピアからコスタ・リカまで様々なレパートリーの豆はもちろん、精密な日本製のハンド・ミルである京セラ・セラミック・グラインダーなどコーヒーに関連した機器をも購入する事ができる。

Translation: Memi Mizukami, with a pleasant view of the Kallang River. The interior, permeated by the aroma of carefully-crafted coffee, has a cosy Scandinavian look and feel, whilst the outdoor seats would be perfect for a lazy Sunday morning alfresco breakfast amidst greenery.
Loysel’s Toy boasts quality coffee for caffeine connoisseurs, with barista Ryan Tan sweeping top honours at the 2011 Singapore National Barista Championship.
The café takes its name from Edward Loysel de Santais, a Frenchman from generations of engineers who combined his training in machines with his love for coffee, producing the world’s first commercial coffee machine in the 19th century.
Breakfast sets, sandwiches, salads and desserts are also served. The café is a popular choice for a weekend brunch, and is quieter on weekdays if you’re looking to sip a cappuccino whilst poring over a magazine.
Serious java-heads who know their beans and hand presses can also purchase caffeine-related apparatus from Loysel’s Toy, such as the Kyocera Ceramic Conical Burr Grinder, a Japanese precision hand mill, as well as a selection of beans and blends from a variety of countries ranging from Ethiopia to Costa Rica.
