are combine in an almost cientific formula. The enchanting program starts on board of a boat you must take right behind the Amsterdam Train Central Station in order to reach the opposite side of the canal, in which the museum is located.

The architectural work of the Viennese firm Delugan Meissl Associated Architects – famous for the creation of the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart- seems to be the perfect one for a place in which film and science fiction are living.

The Museum is the new heart of film in the Netherlands, the perfect place for everyone who loves film, whether local or tourist, student or professional, young or old. Each month features a full calendar of events such as exhibitions, screenings of classics, children’s films and new productions by today’s international filmmakers, open-air performances, festivals, retrospectives, debates and events highlighting film history and contemporary cinematographic developments.

The collection of the Museum is of approximately 40,000 films covering the full range of film history: from silent films to the newest digital productions, from Russian avant-garde to American mainstream, from vintage Hollywood classics to the latest films from young Asian talent.

At one of the entrances of the Museum, a restaurant is located. The responsibles are the group behind Dauphine and Café Amsterdam, and the offer includes drinks, lunch, dinner or coffee.  The menu will periodically change depending on the season. The majority of tables will be in the Arena of the building, but visitors can also grab a seat on the beautiful terrace overlooking Amsterdam’s waterfront. An ideal place to “get away” in the warmer months, especially considering how close it is to the city center.

If you are around, don’t miss the chance of being at one of the most interesting places of the city, where the stimulation of your senses will be assured.
