The fashion industry in Scandinavia is a major business. Although the Swedish brands are blessed with a strong recognition abroad, the most important meeting point for this industry is located in Denmarkスカンジナビアにおけるファッション産業は大きなビジネスだ。スウェーデンブランドは海外での知名度が高いという幸運に恵まれているが、この産業にとって最も重要な場所はデンマークにある。仕入れや売り上げに関することだけではない、スカンジナビアの新しい才能にとっての絶好のチャンスがここにはシーズン毎にあるのだ。コペンハーゲン・ファッション・ウィークはスカンジナビアを拠点に活動するデザイナーたちにとって最大の見せ場であり、さまざまな催しも用意されている。クリスティアン・グレガーセンは、ギャラリー・インターナショナル・ファッション・フェア・イン・コペンハーゲン（以下ギャラリー）の責任者。ギャラリーは選び抜かれた有名ブランドと仕事を進めるかたわらスカンジナビアの新進気鋭の才能を世に送り出している。クリスティアンはそのような仕事の重要さを理解し、ギャラリーは夏冬を通してシーズン毎に成長を続けているのだ。
今回（2010年）のギャラリーについて聞かせてください。
前回よりも6%成長し、39%多くのバイヤーが海外から訪れました。展示はすばらしく、大満足ですね。
特にどのような点で満足していますか？
今回のギャラリーは今までで一番強力なデザイナーたちを紹介しました。スカンジナビア屈指の150人のデザイナーと、海外からの100のデザイナー・ブランドを紹介できたことを誇りに思っています。
今回の具体的な記録を教えて頂けますか？また反応はいかがでしたか？
12,400人のバイヤーが訪れました。出品者たちと話をしたのですが皆満足していました。これはとても重要なことです。
フォーラムについても教えてください。
2010年8月のフォーラムはより良いものになりますよ。すぐ外にある公園エリアも利用する予定です。
天候以外に夏シーズンにおける違いを教えてください。
8月にはより多くのショーとエキシビションに加えて野外レストランもオープンする予定です。

コペンハーゲンのおすすめスポットを教えてください。
チョコレートケーキがおすすめのラウケーフーセット。カフェ・エウロパではジンジャーとレモンのジュース。それからコペンハーゲン中のバーを楽しんでください。ストア・コンゲンスゲーデの本屋さん「インフォメーション」も素晴らしいですよ。

Translation: Kazuyuki Yoshimura. It is not just in terms of purchases/sales but also it is a window stand for the new Scandinavian talents on every seasson. Copenhagen Fashion Week is the largest showcase for Scandinavian-driven designers. The week is covered with different activities. Christian Gregersen is the CEO responsible for Gallery – International Fashion Fair in Copenhagen. Gallery carries on with a selection of established brands and presents profiles of the most up & coming talents in the region. Christian knows about the importance of such labour and Gallery continues expanding every season, winter and summer editions.
Tell me, how do you feel after 2010 Gallery edition?
Gallery grew 6% this time and we had 39% more international buyers. The exhibitors were very pleased so I can only be satisfied
Which factors are you more happy about this edition?
Gallery presented the strongest designers to date this time. I am proud to present the 150 best Scandinavian designers together with 100 design-driven brands from the rest of the world
Could you drop me any achievements and new records on this edition?
Record number buyers of 12,400.
How have the response been?
I have spoken to my exhibitors and they were very pleased – that is important
Regarding the Forum area?
Forum will become even better in August where we also use the park area just outside the door. That means.
Besides of the weather conditions, is it any other differences regarding the summer edition?
More shows, outdoor restaurant, more exhibitors for August

Do you feel attracted about the idea to showcase more designers from abroad?
Yes.
Have you ever showcased any designer from Japan?
I would love to move ALL Tokyo fashion week to Copenhagen in August.
Recommend to our readers some great spots to enjoy in Copenhagen.
Go to Lagkagehuset and get the chocolate cake. Go to Cafe Europa and get the Ginger/lemon drink. And get drunk at all the bars around Copenhagen.
A great bookstore is “Information” in Store Kongensgade.
