Aptly located at the heart of design, at the Red Dot Museum, the Design Museum Shop is a natural extension of the exhibition. Only difference being thatデザインの街の中心に佇む「レッド・ドット・ミュージアム」内の、デザイン・ミュージアム・ショップ。このショップはまるでミュージアム内の展示ブースの延長だ。展示ブースと違うところを挙げるとすれば、買い物したアイテムを家へ持ち帰る事ができる事ぐらいではないだろうか。
数々のデザイン賞を受賞したアイテム、道具、アクセサリー、宝石などのコレクションの数はシンガポールでNo.1を誇る。生活の質を高められる様なデザイン、製作された場所、地域性の高い特有の製品、ユニバーサルなデザインのオブジェ等、どれも素晴らしい上に品数が多いためその中から選ぶのは寧ろ容易ではない。
こちらでは毎月一度、“デザイン”に特化し、プロモーションを含めた催しも開かれており、このショップはまさに“生きた博物館”の様である。
