静岡ミラノShizuoka Milano

JR静岡駅から、呉服町方面へ、青葉公園を通り過ぎ、七間町名店街を進むと見えてくる映画館街(通称七ぶらシネマ通り)にある「静岡ミラノ」。Travelling from the JR Shizuoka station towards Gofukumachi, past the Aoba park, through the Shichikencho Meitengai is the Shizuoka Milano within the cinema district (A.K.A Shichi Bura Cinema Dori). In 1961, Shizuoka Milano emerged from the former Ginza Gekijo. Since then, it has continued its business by changing its style along with the flow of the time. Now it is acclaimed as an old cinema that is continued to be loved by movie fans. Shizuoka Milano, which also is the name of the building began its history as a small cinema, introducing artistic films. It was a forerunner of the so called ‘mini theatre’. Though its recent introductions have mostly been major works, it does continue to have a unique selection of films as an icon of the Shichi Bura Cinema Dori. The seating capacity is 240.

Milano 3, with its predecessor being the Shizuoka Nikkatsu mainly introduces major Western movies. The seating capacity is 222.

Milano 2, which was once a Nikkatsu Namiki Theatre and also a Kabuki Theatre, is a stadium-like theatre with 120 seats. Independent films, that are usually introduced in the mini theatres across Japan can also be enjoyed here.
