札幌市水道記念館Sapporo Waterworks Museum

Sapporo Waterworks Museum was opened in 1977 using the renovated waterworks buildings which once delivered water in Sapporo for the first time1937（昭和12）年に初めて札幌市に水を届けた旧藻岩第一浄水場の建物の一部を改修し、1977年に誕生、2007年にリニューアルオープンした札幌市水道記念館。水を使った体験型アトラクションなどが子供達に人気となっている。アトラクションの他、館内では札幌と水に関する資料の展示などが行われている。
記念館自体は、大人にとっては取り立ててわざわざ見に行くべきほどのものではないが、広い敷地内に建つ現浄水場を含む巨大建造物は見応えがある。また、実際の浄水場内を見学するツアーも平日２回、土日に４回ほど行われていて、館内の受付カウンターで予約をすることで見学ができる。こちらは大人でも十分楽しめるだろう。
施設は藻岩山ロープウェイ山麓駅からすぐで旧小熊邸も近い。周辺は見晴らしも良く、ギャラリー門馬、N43などの施設もあり散策におすすめだ。水道記念館は水をテーマにしている施設だけあって館内以外にも噴水広場やカナール、壁泉などがあり涼しい気分にさせてくれる。藻岩エリアの散策に疲れたら涼みに訪れるのもいいだろう。

Museum itself is more for kids, but it is worth to see the gigantic waterworks building in a huge site. You can make a reservation to join in tours to visit inside of the actual waterworks, twice for a weekday and 4 times for a weekend.
The museum is located near Moiwa Ropeway Sanroku Station as well as Oguma Residence. You will enjoy around the area with great views and can take a walk to places like Gallery Monma Annex and N43. As the museum is focused on water, you can be cool down with the water fountain and the wall fountain. Great place to cool yourself down when you feel like to rest after walk around the Moiwa area.
