There is a memorial museum of a Hokkaido born artist Naoyuki Sakamoto (1906-1982) who has worked on the package illustration. The museum showcases his various works including water and oil paintings of flowers in the Tokachi landscape, drawing notes and his hand-writing texts.

Sakamoto’s another major work was the cover illustration for Rokkatei’s monthly publication “Silo”, which features poems created by kids in the community. Built to mark Silo’s 50th anniversary in 2010, Silo 50th Memorial Museum exhibits all cover art that was featured from the fist issue to date.

Rokka no Mori was opened in 2007, but there’s no end to complete the wood. Please walk around the site and view works of Naoyuki Sakamoto. You will be imaging future of the wood where is fully bloomed with flowers.
