ケイト・ヴァン・デン・ボーグルトは、パリと世界を結ぶオンライン・カルチャー・マガジン「ゴーゴーパリ」の創設者で編集長。Kate van den Boogert is a founder as well as an editor of the online culture magazine “gogoparis.com” that connects Paris and the world.ゴーゴーパリでは、パリのアート、カルチャー、ファッションに関する最新情報をフランス語と英語で提供。海外の様々な都市に情報をつなぎ、トレンドに興味ある人たちに新たな刺激を与えてくれる。
自己紹介と最近の活動について教えて下さい。
パリのアート、文化、ファッション、ゴシップなどを扱ったウェブマガジン、ゴーゴーパリの創立者で編集者です。国際的な流行発信源となる人やカルチャー好きが住む大都市のコミュニティとリンクすることで、ニューヨーク、ストックホルム、ロンドン、ベルリン、そしてメルボルンなどの大都市とパリを点で繋いでいきます。
パリについて教えて下さい。その街で暮らすことや仕事をすることについてどう思いますか？
パリは、村であり、世界の主要な大都市の１つでもあり、そのパラドックスが気に入っています。数時間あれば、街を横断出来てしまうほど小さいですが、文化、社会、歴史、政治、教養など密度は非常に濃いです。一生あっても吸収出来ないほどですね。サルコジが大統領になっても、パリでは社会主義的な価値観の、手に入れることができないものがある、というような考えは辛抱強く残っています。マルコム・マクラーレンだったと思いますが、彼もパリに住んでいて、こんなことを言っていました。「世界の半分はカラオケ、もう半分は美学だ」と。ありがたいことに、パリは今でも存在しています！
パリのお気に入りの場所を教えて下さい。
パレ・ド・トーキョーは、正午から深夜まで空いている最新鋭のアート・モールです。知的な展覧会や、アートブックを扱う本屋、「トーキョー・イート」というおいしいレストラン・バー、日本のマンガのフィギュアから一点物のアート作品までなんでも揃っている一風変わったお店、ブラック・ブロックなどがあります。地元の10番街にあるレ・ルックやボブズ・ジュース・バーには、ランチタイムにご飯を食べに行きます。19世紀に作られたパレ・ロワイヤルは、マーク・ジェイコブス、リック・オーウェンズ、アクネ、ピエール・アルディ、ステラ・マッカートニー、コルト・モルテドなどの街の新しいファッションのメッカになっていて、特に陽が出ているときなんかは最高の素敵な場所ですね。リー・66は、エイプリル・77からツモリチサトまであらゆるブランドを扱うファッションストアで、シャンゼリゼ通りに行くきっかけにもなります。もちろん、コレットも決して輝きを失うことはありません。OFRブックショップ・ギャラリーは日曜の散歩にはうってつけです。夜に出掛けるときは、ル・レジーネというクラブへ友達のチチに会いに行ったり、日曜日にはニコラス・ウルマンのクレイジーなカラオケ・ショー（カラロッケ）が見れることもあります。街の北東部の郊外にある、ママ・シェルターという新しいホテルに友人を連れて行ったりもします。フィリップ・スタルクによるデザインの空間で、工業的で汚れた感じのパリの側面を楽しむことが出来ます。日本のうどんは国虎屋、おいしいピザは運がの裏にあるマリア・ルイーザ、独創的なフレンチとミックスした料理のプレ・ベラ、またル・コントワール・デュ・ルレでは、申し分の無いフランス料理を堪能することができます（席が取れればの話ですが）。もちろん、最新のショップ情報はゴーゴーパリで見ることが出来ます。
パリのアートシーン、デザインシーン、ファッションシーンについてどう思いますか？
まずはファッションから。パリと言えばファッションですよね。そして沢山の夢がパリで実現したり、消えたりしています。そして、パリはクリエイティブなエネルギーやお金、（一般的にも）芸術やそれを作る人に対する互いの尊敬が溢れているところです。エルメス、カール・ラガーフェルド、ブレスなどがファッション界での私の３大スタンダードですね。エルメスは、全ての伝統的なラグジュアリーブランドがあるべき姿です。家族で経営し、ただ単に売り上げを追い求めるのではなく、品質、創造性、そして伝統を深く追求していくブランドです。カール・ラガーフェルドは、街のアイコン的なファッションです。50年代の小さな仕立屋さんだった頃から、今の国際的なプレタポルテ産業に成長する間、ファッション産業を間近で見てきた言わばファッション界の「ドン」。精力的に活躍する、常に時代を吸収し、飽くことを知らない好奇心（とエゴ）を満足させる場所で、いわば「皇帝」のような彼が頻繁に訪れる場所。
ブレスは、私たちがほしいものを何でも揃えていて、理想的なすばらしいアート・ファッション・デザインの集積体です。

Please tell us about yourself and your recent activity.
I am the founding editor of gogoparis.com, a webzine on Paris arts, culture, fashion and gossip. Gogoparis.com joins the dots between, say, New York, Stockholm, London, Berlin, Melbourne and Paris, linking a cosmopolitan community of curious international trendsetters and culture junkies.
Please tell us about your city, and about living in your city for yourself/activity.
Paris is both a village and a major world capital and I like that paradox. You can walk across the city in a few hours, but there’s an impossible density here – cultural, social, historical, political, intellectual – that a lifetime is not long enough to absorb. Despite Sarkozy, there are enduring socialist values here: everything is not for sale. I think it was Malcolm McLaren, who chooses to live here in Paris too, who said that the world is half karaoke, half authentic… Thankfully, Paris is still real!
Please tell us a favourite places in the city you live and work in.
Some of my favourite places in Paris include the cutting-edge art mall, open from noon to midnight, the Palais de Tokyo. Here you’ll find intelligent exhibitions, a great art bookshop, excellent food at the restaurant Tokyo Eat, a bar, and a quirky shop Black Block selling everything from Japanese manga figures to one-off art pieces. My local canteens in the 10th, Le Look and Bob’s Juice Bar, give me my vitamins at lunchtime. The covered 19th-century galleries, the Palais Royal, are the city’s new fashion mecca (Marc Jacobs, Rick Owens, Acne, Pierre Hardy, Stella McCartney, Corto Moltedo…) and still a divinely romantic place to hang out, especially when the sun is shining. Le66 is a massive multi-brand fashion store carrying everything from April 77 to Tsumori Chisato and gives me one good reason to go to the Champs-Eysées. Colette never loses it’s sparkle, of course. OFR bookshop / gallery is a great place for a mooch around on Sunday. If I get out at night, I like to go to the club le Régine and see my buddy Chichi, or perhaps catch Nicolas Ullmann’s crazy karaoke show on a Sunday, the Kararocké. I send my friends to the new hotel Mama Shelter out on the N-Eastern fringes of the city, where they will taste the grungy, industrial side of Paris in a cool, Starck-designed space. My favourite places to eat include Kunitoraya for perfect Japanese udon; great pizza at Maria-Luisa, behind the canal; inventive French fusion food at the Pré Verre; and Le Comptoir du Relais (if you can get a table) for impeccable French bistro fare. What do you think about the art/design/fashion scene in the city?
Let’s start with fashion! Paris is synonymous with the stuff, n’est-ce pas? And a lot of dreams come here to live, and die. There’s loads of creative energy here, and money, and a reciprocal respect for the arts in general and the people who make them. Hermès, Karl Lagerfeld and Bless are my three reference points in fashion. Hermès for everything a traditional luxury house should be: family owned and run, the brand is deeply committed to quality, creativity and tradition, and not just as marketing tropes. Karl Lagerfeld is the city’s iconic fashion ‘don’, who’s seen the fashion industry evolve from an atelier-based couture business in the 50s, to the international prêt-à-porter industry that it’s become. One regularly spots the hyperactive ‘Kaiser’ out and about, absorbing the zeitgeist, and satisfying his insatiable curiousity (and ego).
