Located in the heart of Kyoto, Ippodo Tea Co. has been providing the highest quality Japanese green tea for nearly 3 centuries. More than just a retailer, Ippodo is a multi-faceted tea company一保堂は京都に本店を構える、日本茶の専門店。主に「宇治製法」でつくられた「京銘茶」を中心に取り扱っている。創業は1717年に「近江屋」として店を構えたのが始まり。1846年に山階宮により『茶、一つを保つように』と「一保堂」の屋号を賜り、現在まで暖簾を守り続けている。
1995年には店舗内に喫茶室「嘉木」を設置。好きな茶葉を選び、自分で淹れたお茶とお菓子を楽しむことができる。一保堂商品は京都では本店の他、四条、京都駅でも購入できる。また全国のデパートでも購入可能。京都に行ったなら是非、本当の日本茶の美味しさを味わってみて欲しい。

They also offer Tea-Making Workshops, which can be held at their main store or at a location of your choosing. The occasions on which a particular tea is suitable; the recommended tea for a favorite aunt with a particular taste preference – whether it’s a simple question or a more complicated one.
