京都で40年以上の歴史を持つ老舗画廊「ギャラリー16」。現代美術の作家を専門にフォローする画廊として1962年の開廊以来、Galerie 16 in Kyoto is a gallery with successful history for 40 years or over. Galerie 16 has held over 2000 exhibition since its opening, following in particular contemporary artists. Overlapping the movements of contemporary arts in Japan after war, the 40-year-old history represent the years of contemporary arts in Kyoto on a smaller scale, not just as a history of one gallery.
