“In NOHO, the new area of Hong Kong Island Central, galleries has recently been increasing in number. Among them, MADHOUSE Contemporary established in 2008香港島セントラルの新しいエリア、NOHOはここ数年で新しいギャラリーが急増している。2008年に設立されたマッドハウスはその中でも特にユニークなポジションを確立し、マッドハウス（狂った家）の名に相応しい活動を行っていると自負している、キュレーター／ディレクターのシン・ウォンは、若干30歳という若さ。アートに対する情熱と真剣さは、プレゼンテーションにやってくるアーティストやエージェンシーにこのような言葉を焚き付ける。
『どんなにクレイジーな提案をしてもらっても構わない。ただ、そこに確かな技術と意志があれば。人々をアートで納得させられる事ができれば、私はとことん付き合います。』そう言って、彼女は関わろうとする者に挑戦を挑み続けている。
マッドハウス・コンテンポラリーは一風変わったプロジェクトで、今後も香港のアート界に新風を巻き起こし、リードしていく存在になることだろう。

Text: Yuka Nakamura (ARI) got an extremely unique position, and lives up to its name MADHOUSE”, the curator Shim Won said. She is as young as 30, but tells the artists and agencies who come to present their works the following words.
“it doesn’t matter however crazy your presentation is, only if you have fine technique and strong will. If you can bring people round with your works, I’ll go with you.” She takes on a challenge to those who tries to get engaged.
Holding MADHOUSE Contemporary will continue to provide a breath of fresh air into the art scene in Hong Kong as one of the leading galleries.
