Designed by a design office in Singapore, Ministry of Design (MOD), Prologue is a bookshop launched in the commercial building called ION Orchard, which has opened its door in 2009 in the Singapore’s downtown, Orchardシンガポールの繁華街、オーチャード通りに2009年に誕生した商業施設「アイオン・オーチャード」。そこにオープンした「プロローグ」は、シンガポールのデザイン事務所「ミニストリー・オブ・デザイン」（MOD）が手掛けたブックショップだ。ここでは、ブランドコンセプトから、店舗設計、ロゴ、ショッピングバック、ウィンドウディスプレイからユニフォームにいたるまですべてのデザインをMODが手掛けている。

今までの書店には見られない曲線を多用した店内は、ウィンドウディスプレイが設置されたエントランスからシームレスに繋がり、それぞれのセクションへと自然に導く。またセクションで色分けされていることで自分がどこにいるのかも直感的に分かる。店内に置かれたクリエイティブなアイディア溢れるアート・インスタレーションにも注目して欲しい。

Text: Mariko Takei. The shop was fully designed by MOD, which includes the brand concept, interior design, logo, shopping bags, window display, and uniforms.

You can see many carves, which are usually not familiar to be used in the conventional bookstore. From the entrance with window displays, those carves link seamlessly to each sections of the book selection. Each section is designed in different colors, which makes you easy to find yourself intuitively where you are at. Also keep an eye on art installation showcased at the entrance window display.
