The Alliance Francaise de Singapour, founded in 1949 is a non-profit educational organisation, affiliated to the headquarters in Paris. It is one amongst the 1,085 Alliances Françaises worldwideアリアンス・フランセーズ・シンガポールはパリに本部を持つ1949年に設立された非営利教育組織である。1,085あるアリアンス・フランセーズは世界中に拠点を持ち、歴史あるフランス語学校としてだけでなく、世界中のアーティストが集まる文化の中心施設としても活動していくことを目的としている。
SG信託銀行ギャラリーでは定期的に展覧会が開かれており、国内にとどまらず海外からも芸術愛好家たちが訪れている。アリアンス・フランセーズ・シアターではシンガポールの主要な文化イベントも行われ、またメディアテークには1万5000冊以上の本が所蔵されており、そこを利用する生徒や会員はシンガポールにおけるフランス文化の一端を垣間見ることができる。

Translation: Yuki Mine and serves 3,000 students every year. Its mission is to not only be known as a premier French language school but to also serve as a cultural centre bringing together artists from around the world.
As a premier French language centre, the Alliance offers courses that are tailor-made to suit the individual needs of those learning a new language. The Alliance distinguishes itself not only through the choice of contemporary course materials but also through its teachers, who are highly-qualified French speakers, who encourage interactive communication.
As a cultural institution, the Alliance Française de Singapour contributes in a modest fashion to the regional influence of the cultural scene of this City-State by positioning itself:
1. as a cultural centre that serves as a place of artistic expression for emerging artists from all cultural disciplines
2. as a centre that participates in a movement that seeks to raise the cultural consciousness of the public
This dual mission is at the core of all activities organised at the Alliance.
Certain annual events have now become a part of the cultural landscape of Singapore. Some of these events like the French Film Festival attract more than 6,000 spectators every year. Other annual events include the Francophone festival, Fete de la Musique and the Annual Christmas Bazaar.
Regular exhibitions are held at the SG Private Banking Gallery that attract art lovers from both the region and abroad. The Alliance Française theatre with a seating capacity of 236 welcomes some of the main cultural events of Singapore within its doors. The Médiathèque of the Alliance with a collection of more than 15,000 books serves students, members and those nostalgic for a small part of French culture in Singapore.
The Alliance also publishes, the ‘Lien’, an in-house magazine, which is available at certain key centres of artistic and business interest across Singapore.
The Alliance Française de Singapour is a rich and diverse community of people whose strength is built from inter-cultural understanding, which is at the heart of all dialogue.
