Located on the 1st floor in 1928 building, MUM’S THE WORD is a place to exhibit and sell “wearable art objects” created by women accessory artists. It was opened in 2006 and accessory artists gather there1928ビル１階の小さなギャラリー空間に、女性アクセサリー作家達による“身につけるアート作品”の展示・販売を行っている場所がある。2006年にオープンし、アクセサリー作家数人で世界でただ一つのアクセサリーを作っている。
元々は立体作品や日本画、油彩を学んでいた彼女達による作品は、アクセサリー概念が吹き飛ばす。「オブジェとしてのアクセサリー」であり「アクセサリーとしてのオブジェ」なのだ。
繊細に造り込まれたパーツと混合してポップなパーツが一つとなったものや、そのアクセサリーオブジェを身につけると、その人までもが作品となり得るような素晴らしいアクセサリー達。ひとつひとつが手づくりのため、お店に行くたびに違ったものが目に飛び込むだろう。たった一つしか無いアクセサリー。ネットでの購入も可能だが、直で見たいなら京都へ。
