Chisato Shinya’s solo exhibition “Sha la la” will be held at Clark Gallery+SHIFT in Sapporo from October 2nd. She is an illustrator who has produced works as a motif created from nature which is her theme mainly, and she has been active at home and abroad, such as the illustrations of picture books overseas and hotel interior.
The title “Sha la la” is a phrase used of so many songs and popular. Shinya thinks that various artists and singers have been expressed a thousand feelings in the phrase, then she also yarns for the style of reaching these feelings to audiences. This time, she produced new works with wishing for the same situation, based on various images of “Sha la la”.
30 pieces will be shown including paintings on wooden square panels. When you see her works and its phrase will come into your head, what will it remind you, and what scene and smell will you recall?
