From December 1st, Chisato Shinya will hold her solo exhibition “Looks like X’mas.” at Clark Gallery + SHIFT in Sapporo, to be the first time in four years. She, a Sapporo-based illustrator/artist, has produced works as a motif created from nature which is her theme mainly, and she has been active at home and abroad, such as the illustrations of picture books overseas and hotel interior.
For this exhibition, she draws and exhibits something that “looks like X’mas,” such as exotic Christmas or foreign countries without Christmas which she imagines. You would see about 30 paintings drawn on the square canvas and a combination like picture matching card game.
