On April 2nd, “Takemura Institute” will be held in Sapporo, which has carried out 9 times in Tokyo, as welcomed Mr. Takemura Jukucho; prime minister. It’s the interchanging place to be open to gather people to try to create the future, lead, discuss and share each other’s knowledge and wisdom.
He had been taught at several schools such as Nihon University College of Art, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, The University of Tokyo, School of Design, Sapporo City University and more, until now. As he has also proposed so much about media and urban, creative activities by citizens and the future of media and human, Sapporo has been approved the accession as a “Media Arts City” to “UNESCO Creative Cities Network” in 2013 by its recommendations. And he is a director of Sapporo Media Arts Lab (SMAL).
In this talk, Mr. Takemura, who will leave Sapporo spending more than 10 years of time and journey to Germany in early April, commentaries to Sapporo as a media city of northern cultures and creative participation of the citizens who live there, from a variety of perspectives. This institute will be the last before his journey to Germany. Booking is till April 1st.
