From January 31st, “Contemporary Photography and Video Artists of Hokkaido“, the exhibition focused on the photos and videos of artists who are closely connected with Hokkaido, will start at Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art.
In the world of contemporary art, artists have been created and produced works while free to choose a variety of techniques and forms such as painting, drawing, photography, video, three-dimensional or installation. Sometimes while combining several approaches to freely. In particular, as a representation method of modern image, the media of photography and video can be said that has contributed greatly to the expansion of the representation area of art.
In this exhibition, it focuses on the medium of photography and video that thorn an abrupt change from the 1990s, and introduces its diverse representation. As looking at works of remarkable eight(pairs of) artists, it will be felt the ways of modern image representation and the possibility of future art.
