The solo exhibition “GARU GARU” by a sculptor/3D artist Koki Yoshihara at art space tetra in Fukuoka.
The tree fallen on the forest, stones lying around on the street, I set up things that just decay originally. Magnetic field of unnatural energy is born there. There might be an origin of the sculpture in the manifestation of this unnatural force. Hiroki Yoshihara makes pieces to polish, paint trees and branches picked up in around his university graduation. Exploring keywords like an origin of the sculpture, culture of primitive, religion, and Japan, he creates works inspired by affected things and personal belongings like photos of rock star like David Bowie and Iggy Pop, glitter seals, lacquer spray etc. He showcases pop and muddy works, but they are like universe.
In June 8th from 19pm, a talk event “Art is a muscle!” by 3 sculptors Koki Yoshihara, Yuji Kondo, Yoshihiro Koga, and a party will be held in the venue.
