“How barrier Is” is currently taking place in sendai mediateque as its 10th anniversary project from September 18th to December 26th. Launched with PROJECT TUBE 5 Vol.6 by 2 artists, Motoi Ishibashi and Daito Manabe, the project “How Barrier Is” will be held using entire building of smt with various programs including a large-scale installation at the 6th-floor gallery by Toru Koyamada and Hikaru Fujii starting on October 23rd, and “Double Skin Project” by Takayoshi Kitagawa and “Shiori Project” by Chihiro Minato, both starting from the mid October.
The project also features some other art projects and workshops such as “Creating Sendai Media Dance” Art Project by Formant Brothers and a sound and tactile experimental project by Takayuki Mitsushima. Through these wide ranges of exhibitions and events, a reality of various barriers (body, language, gendar, ethnicity, space) in the informatizationa and globalization will be explored as an expression to open a next generation.
