Toru Koyamada, Floating Museum, 2009

As its 10th anniversary project, Sendai Mediatheque will hold a series of exhibition programs for “How Barrier Is” in this coming fall. For one of the project which will be presented by Toru Koyamada, an artist and one of the member of the artist group Dumb Type, Sendai Mediathque is currently calling for supports for the artist during the production period from July to October. Celebrating for its 10th anniversary, Sendai Mediatheque will present a project called “How Barrier Is”, exploring various expressions to open up the next generations for realties on various barriers (body, language, gender, folk, space, etc) of informatization and globalization. Presented in the various view points throughout the year, one of the project will be exhibited by 2 artists, Toru Koyamada and Hikaru Fujii, showcasing a dynamic installation using the whole space that has 1000 square meters on the 6th floor of Sendai Mediatheque.
