Renee Adams “Poison Pie”

Continuing her exploration of ideal beauty and the natural world, Renee Adams’ current exhibit, Poison Pie will be held at PUNCH Gallery in Seattle, scrutinizing two species that, for many, have a magical allure. The jellyfish and the mushroom exist as elusive, enticing, foreboding and sometimes deadly members of our local flora and fauna. But Adams’ sculptures go further in beguiling us with frills, baubles and ribbon.

Charlotte Perriand – Designer, Photographer, Activist

Museum für Gestaltung Zürich will be opening a substantial presentation of works by Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999), one of the most innovative designers and interior architects of the 20th century. The exhibition “Charlotte Perriand − Designer, Photographer, Activist” will reveal this modernist pioneer as a designer of furniture, as a photographer, and as a socially committed woman.

Li Huai “Breath-Taking”

Breath-Taking“, an exhibition by Li Huai at The Substation, is an installation of 200 portraits displayed in individual inflated plastic bags. Each portrait is abstractedly painted in acrylic and Chinese ink, and presented on media like plastic, paper and duct tape. The audience is invited, through the exhibition, to question how our past impacts on our judgements, expectations and experiences. The process of reading, understanding and relating to “others” is also a pivotal theme of the exhibition.

The Suit, Soulland SS 2011 Paris Show
