Ben Nagaoka: Labyrinth of Woods

An installation “Labyrinth of Woods” by a unique architect Ben Nagaoka and his unit POINT will be exhibited at the 1st floor of DIESEL DENIM GALLERY AOYAMA, creating individual environment as inner landscape fusing furniture and space conceptually.

Established architectural firm “POINT” in 1999, Nagaoka and POINT created a work of huge wood furnishing interior Kaetsu Canyon which entered the limelight in 2007. POINT has won JCD (Japanese Society of Commercial Space Designers) gold prize two years in a row, for a jewelry shop MUSVI (2008) and Yamakoya, and a small lounge for a library of elementary school (2009). Considering spatial design as media, Nagaoka and his POINT create comfortable and enjoyable environment for the users. For the exhibition, they will be creating an “extra-ordinary” shop space “Labyrinth of Woods”, where the visitors gravitate deep into the shop from enthusiasm, by using very ordinary material, plywood.
