Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media [YCAM] will present Seiko Mikami’s large-scale exhibition “Desire of Codes” focusing on the “human body in the information war”, starting March 20th. This is the first comprehensive exhibition in Asia introducing the work of Seiko Mikami, an artist operating on the forefront of the international media art scene, who has been showing several large-scale installations dealing with the human body and the information war since the 1980s.

Making use of YCAM’s entire exhibition space, the event includes among others a brand new piece developed with the YCAM InterLab, and a revised edition of the much talked-about “gravicells – gravity and resistance,” which was unveiled at YCAM in 2004, and then performed at various locations in Japan and abroad.
