This is Audrey Fondecave’s fourth solo exhibition at La Galerie Des Nakamura. For this show, Fondecave unites her new paintings and drawings through a museum-themed installation in the gallery.

Such a theme provided the opportunity for Fondecave to become her own curator and present her works as if they were “masterpieces” in an old European-style museum. Works that were influenced from books she enjoyed from her childhood yet still serve as nostalgic reminders and fond memories. “These paintings are a way for us to remember that we always repeat the same mistakes- even if our surrounding environment changes, some of the personal things in our lives never really change.”

There will be an opening reception featuring an artist talk with the writer and cultural critic Egaitsu Hiroshi on Saturday, October 18th beginning at 16:00 PM. Entrance is free. In addition, a workshop event with Audrey, “Le Petit Musée”, will be held on Sunday, October 26th at 14:00 (by appointment only).
