W Hotels Worldwide, The Moinian Group and SHVO with award-winning Graft and Gwathmey Siegal to design the W New York-Downtown Hotel & Residences, the first globally branded luxury hotel and residences project of its size and scale in downtown New York and the first W residential development in Manhattan.

Located at 123 Washington Street, one block from the site of the new Freedom Tower, the W Downtown is a 58-story newly constructed building featuring a glass-curtained facade, 217 hotel rooms, and 223 full-ownership, residential condominium units. Gwathmey Siegel Architects conceived of the building – 92s modernist shell exterior, while award-winning interior design firm GRAFT worked to lend its signature, avant-garde style to the interior space. Completion is anticipated for 2009.
