Kozyndan is a Los Angeles-based team of artist/illustrators known for their digitally painted pencil drawings of contemporary urban cityscapes and surreal interior spaces.
Comprised of husband and wife Dan and Kozue Kitchens, kozyndan creates both fine art and commercial projects, and has been showcased internationally to much critical acclaim.
CG-ARTS Society with Agency for Cultural Affairs and The National Art Center, Tokyo will start calling for entries for 12th Japan Media Art Festival. They seek vibrantly creative works that are opening up a new era in each division of Art, Entertainment, Animation and Manga. The submission period is from July 17th to September 26th.

Drawing from John Ruskin’s notions of the “Pathetic Fallacy” in which the outward manifestation of the landscape mirrors inner emotional states, Patte Loper’s new body of work employs Antarctica—hostile, empty, beautiful—as a fictional site of historical, scientific and emotional speculation. The images are inspired by accounts of early 20th century explorers and their attempts to map uncharted lands with woefully inadequate knowledge and equipment in order to fulfill a sense of manifest destiny—all the while maintaining impeccable manners and civility in the face of hopeless brutality.

Xavier Llongueras is an artist of resource. He is connected to an artistic process that exists beyond the reach of memory. In his latest piece, he develops an intuitive approach to his work. The new collection is constructed from diverse, assembled fragments. The compositions are both fixed and malleable. The fragments are held together not by cement, but rather a magnetic force that forms an invisible cohesion. Each piece draws upon and alludes to aspects of quantum physics, molecular biology, and genetic ecology while remaining a spiritual practice.
