This year we are also curating and organising for a non-profit event, Open House in December. SP will build Blackout and Open House as brands that other people and other businesses and social causes can leverage on.

What is your sense of the Singapore art scene?

It’s parochial, provincial, privileged and self-indulgent. But there is hope yet.

Where would you recommend a first timer to Singapore to visit to see local art at its best?

National Museum of Singapore is always doing fairly interesting things. I’d love to recommend a few other places too but can’t in good conscience as the programming is sometimes so spotty and inconsistent. I think one is better off going shopping and eating in Singapore.
