The Sonics

The Second day have a before and after, and i think also all the people hips got hurted when the super veteran Rock & Roll band The Sonics came to scene. It was a magical moment of the Festival. The cult band from Tacoma, Washington formed in the early ’60s split up at the end of the same decade and it wasn’t until last year that they came together again. At Primavera Sound they played their first Continental European show and it was a Blast!

But the second day was just starting and after dancing like crazy with The Sonics, at the ATP stage the duo from Massachusetts MV & EE (Matt Valentine and Erika Eider) played their psychedelic folk rock together with The Golden Road band including J. Mascis at the drums.

No Age

At the Vice/Jägermeister stage another of the best new bands from nowadays No Age recently signed by Sub Pop presents their new album “Nouns”, and their fantastic debut album “Weirdo Rippers”.

Devo

If the night wasn’t enough, the Estrella Damm stage was ready to present one of the best shows of the Festival the uniques Devo. Like landing from a time machine the band played an extense repertory with super hits like ” Secret Agent Man”, “Whip It” or “Peekaboo!”

Once again super expected was the show of Cat Power (Chan Marshall) that captivates the audience with her unique Soul, Blues and Folk touch. Chan is always a step ahead from any other singer today and that was revelead with her new album Jukebox with cover versions of Joni Mitchell, Hank Williams and Billie Holiday. She was well supported by the Dirty Delta Blues Band.

Sebadoh

The Rockdelux stage presented the fantastic indie rock band from Northampton, Massachusetts Sebadoh. The band formed by Lou Barlow, Jason Lowerstein and Eric Gaffney is on the road again and after Primavera the trio will tour around Europe.

The ATP stage hosted one of the most incledible shows of the Festival. The concert of the British experimental noise duo Fuck Buttons transported the audience with their intense and presice use of noise sound.

To end the journey there was two brilliant proposal for introducing the party dancing time till the early mourning with the warm sound of the local musician El Guincho presenting his “Alegranza” album. And at the same time the joyful sound of the Brigthon band The Go! Team.
