Approach to Green Electricity

Today we most of our energy dependance relies on resources like oil, coal and nuclear energy. These conventional energy resources have been causing many environmental and social problems that we have been facing, including global warming, acid rain, radioactive pollution, soaring world oil prices in these latter days and the conflict over oil.
These days our attention is, on the other hand, focused on sustainable and clean natural energy sources such as wind power, solar power and biomass power. In Europe the use of natural energy is already utilized as a main energy source.

SHIFT has purchased a green power certificate, from Energy Green, Inc., providing 50% of our usage of electrical power generated by the "Ishikari citizen wind turbine", which has been built in the wind-power plant in Ishikari, Hokkaido.

"Green power certificates" certify us our "ecological value" by using electricity generated by natural energy that help global environment and create a better future compared to conventional electricity generation.

To make 100% of the green power usage, SHIFT would like to request donations for devoting resources to purchase the rest of the necessary green certificates.
*If the amount of donation goes over the 100% usage of electrical power, we will donate the surplus to the Green Foundation at Hokkaido Green Fund to help provide money for a new wind turbine construction.

Donating to us will reduce CO2 emissions, and promote green energy development. This is a small step to support green energy for our future and global environment. We would greatly appreciate it if you agree to the proposal and consider donating.
