ABOUT SHIFT MAGAZINE

SHIFT is an online magazine which translates international information to Japan and Japanese information to overseas, mainly featuring world creative cultures such as art, design, fashion, music, and multimedia. It mainly covers creators/artists' activities by interview, event report, book review, etc, in a bilingual form (English/Japanese). Launched in November 1996.

Commemorating the 10th anniversary, we redesigned SHIFT in April, 2007. Articles are divided into 5 categories; PEOPLE, THINGS, HAPPENING, GREEN and PLACE. Past articles can be also easily found in it.

We started "SHIFT CITY GUIDE". You can find the information of alternative spots or from opinion leaders in each city, including galleries, clubs, live houses, and theaters.
