THE ONE WEEKEND BOOK SERIES

THINGSText: Julio Cesar Palacio

With all these weekends in different cities and with different artist collaborations, Martin produced together with Lupi (his wife) a small book with about 48 pages, all photocopied and with the final looks reminiscent of the school scketch books we had when we were young.

These volumes are edited exclusively with 50 copies. All the first volumes are already sold out.

The book compilation of the first 5 volumes (and the volumes itself) are at sale in stores in Barcelona (RAS), Berlin (ProQM), Paris (Collete), Amsterdam (Nijhoof&Lee), Milan (A+M), and bookstores around the world. Besides, in 2005 the project starts to travel again, but bringing the experience of the creation of the volumes into different Galleries, Museums, and Cultural Centers in the “The One Weekend Book Series Gallery-Tour”, where the public can watch a review of the first 5 volumes in La Haya, Milan and Barcelona.

But the project doesn’t stop there, because the main interest and starting point was the collaboration and working process together with other artist. So, way not share this fantastic chaos of creation and show it to the public? Yes, like that start the performance and creation of the new volumens of the book in several festivals and galleries, presenting not the finished book, but working 48 hours with the guess artist on site. Like this, the performances took place in the CMYK Festival along with Steve Smith and Tobias Rottger and in RAS Gallery with con Boris Hoppek in Barcelona.

Recently, Martin has moved to Barcelona, where he has a new studio and works for several projects in TWOPOINTS.NET, and The OneWeekend Book Series continues nowadays with a large list of futures collaborators.
